Figure 3 shows a screen shot of the online language course that I took and analysed on.

There are a total of six modules for this online French language skills course that I took. By accomplishing 83.28% of the module and scoring 140 out of 200, I am quite proud of myself as being a new e-learner.

"Learning a second language online has both advantages and disadvantages." (Lai & Kritsonis, 2006)

This statement is so true that it benefits in a way that I can learn whenever I want and wherever I am. I do not just stay in front of my laptop and learn, I can also learn French online when I am lying on my bed or even on a bus with the internet access using my mobile phone.

However, there are some limitations for this online language course. Keengwe and Kidd (2010) indicated some destructive factors, such as administrative support, course quality and cost, etc. In addition, not all the places are with good network coverage, it is particularly hard to get internet access on a train when going through a tunnel. Also, phone screen has to be always on when listening and watching the PowerPoint slides of the online French language skills modules,  which cause great battery consumption. I found it annoying when the above situations happened and my online course had to be compelled for a pause.

At a pedagogical point of view, I personally think e-learning is indeed convenient and easy but it is only a one-way process of receiving information which lacks direct interaction and communication. I do not know exactly if I am pronouncing the French word in a right way, I just believe I am correct. Furthermore, this course does not provide me any opportunity to practise as it was just me and my laptop or my mobile phone during the whole e-learning process. Therefore I would suggest a video conference between learners and teachers which allows live conversations and are more like to eliminate the weaknesses of this online course.
